The Giwa is a stool designed to reinterpret the beauty and functionality of a traditional Korean house (Hanok) in a modern context. It features a harmonious balance of curves and straight lines, embodying simplicity and serene beauty. Moreover, it is crafted with eco-friendliness and sustainability in mind throughout its entire lifecycle, from manufacturing, transportation, and repair processes.
기와 스툴은 한옥의 아름다움과 기능성을 현대적인 맥락에서 재해석한 디자인입니다. 곡선과 직선의 조화로운 균형을 갖추어
단순하면서도 고요한 아름다움을 표현합니다. 또한 기와는 제조, 운송 및 수리과정 전반에서 친환경성과 지속가능성을 고려하여 제작되었습니다.
The Giwa stool draws inspiration from the curves, straight lines, and proportions of traditional Hanok architecture. It incorporates detailed elements such as patterns from traditional roof tiles (Giwa), window frame designs, and the joint structures of columns into the product.
기와 스툴은 전통적인 한옥의 곡선과 직선 그리고 비율에서 영감을 받았으며 기와의 문양과 창 틀의 패턴 그리고 기둥의
결합구조와 같은 세부적인 디테일을 제품에 담았습니다.
Giwa is made by recycling colored PET bottles. Colored PET bottles, when recycled, often end up being incinerated due to increased production costs and reduced efficiency in the recycling process caused by color separation. Giwa utilizes these colored PET bottles, adding new value to discarded materials by creating a unique stool with distinctive colors.
기와 스툴은 유색 페트병을 재활용하여 만들어집니다. 유색 페트병은 재활용될 때 생산 비용 증가와 색 분리로 인한 재활용 과정의 효율성 감소로 인해 소각되는 경우가 많습니다. 기와 스툴은 이러한 유색 페트병을 활용하여 독특한 스툴을 창출함으로써 폐기된 자원에 새로운 가치를 더합니다.
Giwa simplifies the manufacturing process by using repetitive components, reducing energy consumption, and minimizing waste generation during production. Moreover, it contributes to environmental conservation by enabling the easy replacement of only the necessary parts during the repair process, rather than replacing the entire product.
기와스툴은 반복적인 부품 사용으로 제조 공정을 간소화하고, 에너지 소비를 줄이며, 생산 시 폐기물 발생을 최소화합니다.
또한, 제품 전체를 교체하는 것이 아니라 수리 과정에서 필요한 부품만 쉽게 교체할 수 있도록 하여 환경 보존에 기여합니다.
Giwa utilizes the Castle Joint technique, connecting the pillars of a traditional Korean house, ensuring stability and robustness with minimal parts.
기와스툴은 전통 한옥의 기둥을 연결하는 캐슬 조인트 기술을 활용하여 최소한의 부품으로 안정성과 견고성을 확보합니다.
Furthermore, using flat packaging minimizes waste during transportation, maximizes space efficiency, and allows users to easily purchase the necessary components with a package illustrating each part.
또한, 플랫 패키징을 사용함으로써 운송 중 발생하는 폐기물을 최소화하고 공간의 효율성을 극대화하며, 사용자는 각 부품이
그려진 패키지로 손쉽게 필요한 구성 요소를 구매할 수 있습니다.
